How to Upgrade Your Life to the Next Level

Are you ready to upgrade your life? I think you are, and I know you can do it! I promise it will make the biggest difference.
After over 20 years of studying personal development and peak performance, I’ve learned that the most effective way to upgrade your life is to upgrade your thinking.
By upgrading your thinking, you will automatically upgrade your life. Here’s one simple technique to do it.

How Can You Upgrade Your Thinking in Order to Upgrade Your Life

To start with, a lot of you know my story. But if you don’t have any idea, here’s a little piece of it.  I grew up in a broken home and I was out on my own in an early age. I went through some really hard years and I wanted so desperately to upgrade my life.

I have been studying personal development and peak performance for over 20 years and I realized that the best way -and the only way- to upgrade your life is to upgrade your thinking.

The question is: How you can anybody do that?

Well, there is a little trick here that helps. I want you to choose somebody who really inspires you and who’s actually really successful. Then, I want you to think through each of these important areas of life and ask yourself: what would that person think?

Examples:

What would your idol say about your look and appearance?

What would your idol say about your relationships?

What would your idol say about your health?

What would your idol say about your spiritual side?

What would your idol say about your education?

What would your idol say about your financial state?

Note: Your idol can be anyone. In other words, it could be someone from the scripture, some philosopher, a member of your family, a friend… and so on and so forth.

Personally, Theodore Roosevelt Jn is my inspiration of all time. But there are others of course like Gandhi, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington… etc And I always ask myself: What would they do in my situation? What would they think about challenges and obstacles? What would they think of the things I am worried about?

The point is we need to shift those thinking habits and alter them in order to upgrade our life.

Your limiting thoughts keep you from upgrading your life!

Train Your Brain: How to Practice Better Thinking Habits!

Truly, as a man thinketh, so is he! Thoughts are things. And what we think about we bring about. The great news is that we can train the brain to think in the best way possible. You can alter your thinking patterns and thereby alter your life. Just like you exercise a muscle or practice an instrument, you and I need to practice thinking well.

Today, I want to talk about TRAINING your BRAIN!

This is, probably, the most important skill and practice you’ll ever have in your life! I know that is a huge bold statement! but , believe me, it really is. Because:

“As a man thinketh in his heart so he is he”

If you haven’t read that book “As a Man Thinketh” by –James Allen– go read and reread it. (You can get it here)

In As a Man Thinketh, –James Allen– clearly points that the way you think affects your health, your circumstances, your character, your relationship, your purity, your spirituality, your attitude, your thinking habits, your thinking patterns and almost everything. It, simply, shapes your whole life.

Now, the great news is that you can actually TRAIN your BRAIN! It is just like you would practice an instrument, like you would practice your skill, your hobby, like you do for work and like any other skill you want to develop. And to be great at anything, you’ll have to train and practice a lot. And it is totally the same with your mind, you have to practice and train your brain. Moreover, that will make the biggest difference in your life!

Endophasia..

Let me tell you a little bit of my story as far as brain training. Well, I grew up with all the limiting beliefs. I grew up with the negative Endophasia’!

Endophasia: [en-doh-fey-zhuh, -zhee-uh, -zee-ey] internal speech with no audible vocalization.

So I was telling things to myself like:

‘You are ugly’ / ‘You are fat’ / ‘You are a loser’ / ‘You are stupid’ / ‘You can’t do that/ you can’t do this’ / ‘It is just my luck’

But this is not the right thing. Do not ever identify yourself with that. You have to train your brain to think differently because there is a huge correlation between IDENTITY and BEHAVIOR! In other words, if you tell yourself you are something, you will do it!

There is a great  scientific term called ‘Anticipatory Anxiety’. It means that when you anticipate something, you think about it so much, you actually make it happen! Thus, you have to train your mind to think positively first about yourself and next about how you are going to perform.

Train Your Brain as One of Your Muscles


If you want to get in great shape, you have to train your muscles consistently and push them hard. Right! Well, it is the same with your mind! Whether you want to memorize something, whether you want to become a positive thinker, whether you want to master how your mind approach to problems, and whether you want to become enthusiastic and optimistic, you have to train your brain.

I want you every day to pick something positive and start saying it to yourself consistently. I want you to catch yourself when you are thinking negatively and replace that. The mind can only handle one thought a time, so thought replacement is the best way to do this. So start replacing negative thoughts with positive once. And this is a part of brain training.

This Can Literally Transform Your Life

You can literally transform your habits to think differently. Wherever you feel weak, say that you are going to improve, you are going to be stronger and better. Just train your whole thinking and start doing it with positive thoughts.

You can  literally TRAIN your BRAIN to think POSITIVELY, to respond APPROPRIATELY and I PROMISE YOU this will literally TRANSFORM your LIFE! So train your brain to think the way you want it to think. How? By consistently and repeatedly thinking about positive thoughts  that you know will bring you great success.

This topic can be tough, because of delicate relationships with friends and family.

Aesop’s Fables.

Fable 5: “THE CHARCOAL-BURNER AND THE FULLER”

fables“There was once a Charcoal-burner who lived and worked by himself. A Fuller, however, happened to come and
settle in the same neighbourhood; and the Charcoal-burner, having made his acquaintance and finding he was an agreeable sort of fellow, asked him if he would come and share his house: “We shall get to know one another better that way,” he said, “and, beside, our household expenses will be diminished.” The Fuller thanked him, but replied, “I couldn’t think of it, sir: why, everything I take such pains to whiten would be blackened in no time by your charcoal.”

There is a fantastic lesson here!  The fuller is trying to make things white, while the charcoal burner; obviously; is trying to make things black. And though the idea of getting together had some advantages, being separated was better.

And I think one of the great lessons there is to be very careful who you associate yourself with. Protect yourself from influences that would pull you away from your purpose and dream.

  • Stay away from who would squelch your dreams.
  • Stay away from critics.
  • Stay away from people who pull you down.
  • Stay away from people who would lower your morals.
  • Stay away from negative people and negative things.
  • And make sure your influences around you are positive.

The Law of Harvest

Input determines output.

Always surround yourself with greatness and  get around great people and great ideas. Don’t ever waste your time with negativity.

One of the best ways toward greatness is great books. So don’t ever waste your time on trash but instead spend most of your time reading the big great books. Make sure that every input you have is conducive  and leading toward the output you desire.

So make sure you surround yourself with people who are supportive and great. People who in their presence, you should want to be your best self. They should make you want to be better.

To Recap:

So, don’t do, think or say anything that moves you away from your purpose.

Avoid anything and everything that pause your goals, and do not invite the opposition to be your roommate. Any input from anyone or anything that pauses what you are after and moves you away from singing your song.

Make sure everything around you, inside your mind, inside your body, inside your home… etc make sure to surround yourself with things that will encourage and help you to achieve your dreams.
