Prepare Your Children for Jobs of the Future

We live in an exciting time! Technology is changing everything. In 5 years we’ll be depending on things that don’t even exist today, and the jobs of the future haven’t even been invented yet!

Our world is changing so fast! Think about it. How much has changed in the last 5, 10, or 15 years? Just in my lifetime we’ve seen so many techniclogical advances. Literally, we can have in our pockets computers that are capable of awesome-sauce! It is so amazing. We live in such an exciting time and the world is changing so fast.

Whether you are public schooling, homeschooling, unschooling, world schooling, or any other combination, positive parenting and effective mentoring are essential to help prepare our children to learn, adapt, change, grow and to find answers for jobs of the future.

Jobs of the Future?

All this change means that the traditional job is changing and the Industrial Age has vanished. We have moved into the Information age or what some call the Connection Age.

Today I live and work from Costa Rica. Nowadays, wherever there is internet — which is almost everywhere now– people can create or earn an income. We have friends traveling around the world who are creating new careers, being entrepreneurs and running businesses literally from a beach or a bungalow. This is the future of careers.

How to Prepare Your Children for an Uncertain Future

With all these fast changes how do you prepare your children for a future like that — or yourself for that matter. Who knows what we will be using 10 years from now! How do you get prepared with so much uncertainty? A great education. I’m going to share the top three ways to get it.

It is a huge tragedy that so many parents and grandparents haven’t caught a vision yet, and haven’t seen the changes yet, and so they are pushing their kids and grandkids on the old industrial path. That is not going to work and it is only setting them up for failure. What used to work 30 and 40 years ago, will not work today or in the future. That is why we have to help our children get a great education and really learn how to think so that they can succeed.

Here are the top three ways to help your children get a world-class education that will prepare them to be leaders, thinkers and innovators.

#1 Reading and Studying

I read to my kids every single day. You should read to your kids too. Buy books first and then food afterwards! Make sure your kids to have access to great books and give them time to study and read, even if you have to set aside chores.

Here’s a list of the some of the best books.

#2 Learn Through Experience

There are certain things that you can only learn them by trying , experiencing, feeling and touching. So get out and travel, see the world, try new things, challenge yourself and have new experiences that get your neurons making new connections. Expand your mind and your reality, see new places and people and cultures and languages. Get out and try new things, you will grow sooo much.

Too many of us stay in one corner of the earth doing the same thing year after year and it keeps us limited and small. Get out and have great experiences.

#3 Inspiration and Revelation

Great thinkers and learners spent time in meditation. Great ideas often come as a flash of inspiration, a ‘communication with God’. So teach your children to have quiet time to think, to ponder, to pray, to meditate and seek inspiration and guidance.

I promise that you will set yourself up — and your children — for a phenomenal future and great success by doing these three things:

  1. Read and study voraciously from the best books of all time
  2. Get out and create incredible life experiences that expand your reality and help you grow
  3. Seek inspiration and revelation

People Who Do These Things, Have No Future!

Brian Tracy taught that people who have no future watch TV, go to ‘happy hour’ and drive around listening to the radio.  Don’t be one of those people.  Apply these five principles and create a bright future for yourself.  Life is what you make it!

[iframevideo] [/iframevideo]

brian tracySeveral years ago I was listening to an audio recording by Brian Tracy and he said something very powerful which really hit and affected me. He said:

“People who have no future, watch TV, go to happy hour and drive around listening to the radio”

Brian Tracy gave a lot of principles about successful people versus mediocre people. So today, I am going to hit five principles that he shared:

#1 You Have Got to be a Long Life learner

Spend an hour a day, at least, studying what you want to become great at.

#2 Skills and Abilities

Be great at what you do! Do not sit back and just let life happen! Years are passing and you may not be any better than you were years ago. And YOU and I have no business being the same people this year that we were last year! So we have got to be growing and improving.

#3 Build Great Relationships

The more people like you and trust you, the more successful you will be. So build those relationships and be sincere. Try to become that kind of person who has tons of friends all over the world!

#4 It Is All About Money

Money is powerful. It is not the number one in your priorities obviously, but money provides freedom and opportunity. And it provides the opportunity to take advantage of the opportunities. So develop the habit to set aside money and invest in yourself!

“If you cannot save money, the seeds of greatness are not in you”

#5 Good Work Habit

Always ask yourself, what is the most valuable use of my time right now? And then act accordingly.

Be disciplined to do what you want to do. Develop those habits of getting it done. Use the 50/10 principle. Work hard and focus for 50 minutes and then take 10 minutes off.

Whatever it is what you are doing, just do it RIGHT without the need of a supervisor.

Hence, you can take these 5 principles and prior them as you want. But just make sure to follow them and I promise that your life is going to change for the better.

Are You Unknowingly Sabotaging Your Own Future?

I want to share a couple of stories that I hope will dramatically improve the quality of your future life.

The Soldier and the Horse

The first is called The Soldier and The Horse from Aesop’s Fables.

(In a time of war, the soldier gave his horse plenty of oats and tended him with the utmost care. He was strong and he wished him to endure the hardship of the field, and swift to bear his master, when need arose, out of the reach of danger. But when the war was over he employed him all sorts of drudgery, bestowing but little attention upon him, and giving him, moreover, nothing but chaff to eat. The time came when war broke out again, and the soldier saddled and bridled his horse and having put on his heavy coat of mail, mounted him to ride off and take the field? But the poor half -starved beast sank down under his weight, and said to his rider, “You will have to go into battle on foot this time. Thanks to hard work and bad food, you have turned me from a horse into an ass; and you cannot in a moment turn me back again into a horse”

[iframevideo] [/iframevideo]

The story gives a great principle. It says that sometimes we turn ourselves from a horse into an ass! And we unknowingly sabotage our own future!

The Broken Neighbor

I had a neighbor one time who most of the time was doing nothing! Seeking entertainment, smoking, drinking, and doing very little else. And I remember that I was talking to him one day and he said that he wanted to quit his job. I asked him what he is going to do after that and just with total remorse and shame he said –you know I have been going to my job every day for 13 years and I have done nothing to prepare for something else! And so I have nothing to turn to!– He had 6 kids, his wife was pregnant with the 7th and he had nothing to turn to.

In Order to Improve my Life, I had to Improve Myself

And I want to contrast that with my own experience. Well, I grew up in a broken home and I was all alone in an early age, those were hard years, really tough times. But I realized that the only way to improve my circumstances was to improve myself. Every morning I got up, I studied, learned, and I improved my skills and my abilities and I worked on myself harder than I do on anything else. And it made all the difference and I am sure that it going to still make all the difference in the future.

Well, that is the lesson that I want to share with you. That every day you and I can be doing something, even if it is little, to improve ourselves. So with this in mind, I created three great products based around how to really make the best of ourselves.

Three Programs that could Change Your Life For Ever

The first program is about purpose, potential, and peek performance.

The other called how to transform your life before breakfast.

The last is called bibliotherapy.

So let’s go out and create an incredible life and secure our future by being ready to take advantage from the opportunities.

Could anything be worse than having your own siblings sell you as a slave in a foreign country?!

Man, that would stink!  But Joseph made the most of it.  He didn’t give up.  He didn’t throw in the towel and acquiesce to a miserable existence.  He was offered an un-lucrative position in slavery, and he decided to be great at it.  He was going to climb up that ‘slavery ladder’ to the top.

Well, just like in the corporate world, there were immoral, conniving individuals who wanted Joseph to compromise his integrity.  He refused.  So should you!

That landed him in a new and exciting position… in a prison cubicle.  Certainly he would give up now.  Who could possibly endure a demotion from slavery?  But no!  He was determined.  He was unstoppable!  Are you?

The path DOWN into the prison was the path UP into greatness.  That is often the case with great individuals.  There are almost always major ‘failures’ along the way.

As you know, after a few years in the lower ranks, Joseph was promoted to ‘Vice President’ of Egypt.  Htriumphrockis path to greatness enabled him to save many thousands of lives, including his own people.

This is one of the greatest success stories ever told.  Never, ever give up.  If Joseph, and others, can rise to greatness from where they started, then most assuredly, you can too!

The problem isn’t whether it’s possible or not, the problem is whether you REALLY want it or not.

There are many good people who are lax and careless, and who continually procrastinate.  They are casual about life and rarely devoted to improving themselves and their situation.  There is always someone or something else to blame… obviously they’re a victim.  They go through the motions in some areas, but are not valiant in their commitment.

These are not bad people doing bad things; they merely fail to do the things required to achieve greatness.

When opportunities are present, they are unprepared to take advantage of them.  They have failed to make themselves ready.  They often remain in the same undesirable circumstances for most of their lives.  Somehow they keep falling for that old lie…that their ‘lucky break’ is just around the corner, that happiness will come with that next stage of life.

But there they are, trudging along in circles, busily going nowhere.  The path of mediocrity goes around and around, in a smooth, uninterrupted circle.  That path is well worn.

Somewhere up on the mountain, high in the clouds, lies the path to greatness.  On that rigorous trail, stalwart souls are making sacrifices.  They get up early and stay up late.  They WORK when it’s time to work, but definitely not all the time.  These people know how to prioritize their whole life.

There is very little, if any time for being idle on this path.  These climbers know they can’t waste their time and their future by watching TV, driving around listening to the radio and blowing their money and their potential at ‘happy hour.’  (That name, btw, is one of the greatest contradictions I’ve ever heard.  True happiness will never come out of a bar.)

Instead, they are dedicated to personal and professional growth.  They have learned to focus their efforts on the things that matter most, even when they don’t feel like doing it.  That’s what gets them out of the rat race.  They have a ‘do it anyway’ attitude toward the tasks that must be done.

They are inspired and driven by a vision of their potential and their dreams, allowing neither distractions nor detours.  They are not lured off onto the spurs along the trail.  Oh no, they are determined to succeed… and they will.

By William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

Do not leave your future to chance, to wishing things will get better, to ‘well, I guess we’ll see,’ or to ‘I hope it works out’ attitudes.

Life will be precisely what you make of it.  And that demands action.

Samuel Johnson once remarked that ‘hell is paved with good intentions.’   Good intentions don’t get it done; that’s up to you.  Neither God nor the universe, nor anybody else will translate your good hopes and desires and intentions into results.  Each of us must do that for ourselves.  No one else is going to do it for you.  Not the lottery, not the government, not some get-rich-quick scheme, not even your super rich great uncle you hope dies soon and leaves you his inheritance.

“If it’s to be, it’s up to me!”

You want a great future?  Then create it.  Make it happen.

“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them.”

Putting off until ‘tomorrow’ what you could make happen today, is subjecting yourselves to years of bondage.  Bondage to indolence, to bad habits and addictions; bondage to circumstances and weaknesses;  bondage to an okay life.

You can do better than that.

You came to this life ‘trailing clouds of glory.’  You have greatness in you.  YOU WERE BORN TO SHINE!

Do not settle for a humdrum existence.

Decide.  Design.  Create.  Build an epic life!

Do something, anything, right now, that will help you create a life you love!
