How often has greed or ingratitude ruined something wonderful in our lives?
We have to learn to constantly be filled with gratitude for all we have. That takes discipline and perspective. It also requires great discipline to keep greed out of our lives.
Listen to this familiar fable and learn what we can do keep perspective.
Fable #2 The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs
“A Man and his Wife had the good fortune to possess a Goose which laid a Golden Egg every day. Lucky though they were, they soon began to think they were not getting rich fast enough, and, imagining the bird must be made of gold inside, they decided to kill it in order to secure the whole store of precious metal at once. But when they cut it open they found it was just like any other goose. Thus, they neither got rich all at once, as they had hoped, nor enjoyed any longer the daily addition to their wealth.”
Much wants more and loses all.
When we let greed step on, it can literally destroy us.
This, of course, is a very known fable. So let’s take a look at the lessons we might learn from this.
Obviously, greed leads to nothing. It also ends with biting up instead of chewing. So don’t let greed get in and become a dominant emotion in your life because it can destroy your life.
If you have something good, take good care of it. That egg a day can make you so wealthy but often you sacrifice that and you kill an egg a day hoping to get rich quick.
Quick Advice,Saving Will Make You Richer
If you want to be rich, you have to save! No matter how much you are making, learn to discipline yourself to live below your means. And the further below your means, the more you can save. And the further below your income you can live, the more you can save.
One more quick lesson that is quite obvious in these last couple years, is that when you push it so far things will get out of hands. And that’s a great lesson in the fable. When you get too greedy and push it too far, you lose it!
So don’t let greed become a determining emotion in your life.
